RAC were approached to undertake full design and construction services for the fitout of an historic building in downtown Beaudesert for the workplace of local town planners and surveyors TJ Kelly Surveys.

  • Originally a bank, the façade was architecturally articulated and balanced and it was a conscious decision on RAC’s part to celebrate this by replacing the out-dated colour scheme with modern, sophisticated tones and new tiles that referenced the original façade in tone and scale. The overall outcome being an under-stated yet strong and modern presence on Beaudesert’s main street
  • Internally, timber and off-form concrete furniture is used to contrast the modern with the original brick while the staff workspaces and kitchenette are focused around the original vault (with original door in tact) adding character to an otherwise under-stated modern office fitout
  • Damaged concrete slabs and a brick retaining wall to the rear of the building were removed and re-built to resolve drainage issues on site and the metal clad Amenities block (built well after the original brick building) was re-painted in line with the new colour scheme
