The silage pits - pits used for storage of cattle feed - had a capacity of 30,000 tonne of product and required bulk excavation of 3,000sqm of soil, 328m (lineal) of pre-cast wall panels and multiple concrete pours.
Construction had to be precise to ensure the run-off and by-products of the cattle feed did not contaminate groundwater nor erode the concrete.
